Charlie Stubbs
Former Offensive Coordinator/Passing Game Coordinator
Oregon State, Memphis, Tennessee-Martin, UNLV, Alabama, Tulsa and Louisville
WN-08073
An Offensive Coordinator/Passing Game Coordinator for over 15 years at 7 different Division I-A programs, Charlie Stubbs is known for his explosive offenses and high-powered attack. In this instructional video Coach Stubbs discusses what's necessary to have a complete offensive arsenal. According to coach Stubbs, "To be a good offense you must be able to run the ball; to be an explosive offense you must implement a great play action package."
In this video, you will learn from Coach Stubbs:
* To win consistently, you must be able to run the ball.
* To be successful with the play action passing game you must complement your core run package, include various styles and receiver routes, and ensure that all 11 players are involved.
* The importance of individual technique by the QB and RB in practice.
* Elements needed in practice to perfect play action passes: proper scripting, proper pass protection schemes, and preparation vs. blitzes.
* Actual plays to work on: nakeds, bootlegs, waggles, draw, and isos.
* When to call for the play action pass and advantages to consider when making the call.
* A listing of basic run samples with complementary play action passes.
* How to disguise your play action pass.
* A complete play book of play action passes to use immediately.
* A formula to win games as a team.
Coach Stubbs:
"Four team-related statistics are universal in determining the winner of a football game: turnover ratio, third down ratio, quarterback sack ratio, and explosive play ratio. If a team accomplishes all of these goals, the chance of winning goes into the 90th percentile. The turnover ratio is the major emphasis of this formula."
This video contains extensive game film.
