The play-action passing game has been a major part of the Seminole Ridge High School offense (Loxahatchee, FL) since Matt Dickmann started the program in 2005. Coach Dickmann’s teams have improved their record each year and went from 0-9 that first year to 12-1 last fall. Having recently completed a series of six DVDs now available at AFMvideos.com, Coach Dickmann discussed the detail and proper execution of the play-action passing game in this video.
In this DVD, you will learn:
• How to use Jet and Rocket motion for play-action passes.
• Executing proper pass protection with a 3-5 step drop.
• Player assignments vs. both even and odd defensive fronts.
• Strategies for blocking even and off fronts.
• Detailed receiver routes for actual play-action passing plays.
• The importance of quarterback pre-snap reads.
• Roll out passing game and protections.
• To use motion and misdirection to be effective.
